Explore the connections between quality questioning and formative assessment. Learn strategies for unleashing the potential of questioning to provide formative feedback to both students and teachers. Deepen your understanding of students’ roles and responsibilities in classes where questioning is used in this manner. Take away materials that you can share with colleagues to advance these practices in your district or on your campus. Facilitators will draw heavily from their recent book, Thinking Through Quality Questioning, which they encourage (but do not require) participants to bring to the session. This one-day session is appropriate for administrators, teachers, and teacher leaders. Participants are encouraged to attend with at least one colleague from their school or district; district or school teams of 3-4 are recommended to support job-embedded follow up to the session.
